Two of the most important figures in modern science, Konstantinos Daskalakis (MIT) and Cédric Villani (Fields Medalist, Lyon I), meet in an open discussion that inaugurates this year's event at the Chania Cultural Center. The evening will be accompanied by a musical interlude with the young pianist Maximos Georgianniakis Ogbunigwe, a Festum π fellow at the Sorbonne University.
The opening event of the festival will begin with Cretan traditional music by students Nikos Christoulakis, Ioannis Stylianakakis and Panagiotis Kokkinakis. The three students represent the Traditional Cretan Music Ensemble of the Chania Music School, with teacher Dimitris Stefanidis in charge.
