Analysis Techniques for Mathematical Physics, Geometry, and Music

A new volume titled Analysis Techniques for Mathematical Physics, Geometry, and Music is forthcoming in February 2026 as part of the Lecture Notes in Mathematics series (LNM, volume 2390). Edited by Nicholas D. Alikakos and Cédric Villani, the book brings together expanded lecture notes from the Mathemata Summer School and Festum Pi 2024, held in Chania, Crete.

The volume presents advanced analytical methods for contemporary problems in mathematical physics, covering phase transitions, interacting particle systems, kinetic theory, degenerate Vlasov equations, optimal transport methods for parabolic diffusion equations, and Ricci flow. Contributions are authored by leading researchers, offering both recent scientific developments and structured expository material suitable for early-stage researchers.

Reflecting the interdisciplinary culture of Festum Pi, the book also includes two lectures on music theory.

The publication is scheduled for February 2026 and is now available for pre-order via Springer.
